February saw a continued increase in manufacturing output, with expectations to grow in the next few months.
According to the latest CBI Industry Trends Survey, whose 552 respondents reported a continued strengthening of their order books (best in 6 months!).
Manufacturers also expect a moderate price increase over the next quarter too.
Rain Newton-Smith, CBI economics director said: “Our manufacturers have more than a spring in their step… Export orders picked up significantly, to a level not seen for six months, but uncertainty over prospects in the Eurozone will continue to weigh on export demand.”
